Refractive Surgery (Lasik & PRK & Astigmatism)

Laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis, or "LASIK" is an outpatient surgery used to treat myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. With LASIK, Dr. Chang uses a microsurgical instrument and a laser to reshape the cornea to improve the way the eye focuses light rays onto the retina. LASIK is performed in an outpatient surgical suite.

PRK is another technique to correct refractive error without using microkeratom. Each technique has advantages and disadvantages, and Dr. Chang decides which procedure is better for each patient based on eye examination and patient preferences.
